CSS - Basic insurance

CSS basic insurance comes in four different variants. The standard model is the mandatory health insurance, which gives doctors free choice. If you want to lower your premiums, you can choose one of the following three alternative insurance models:

• Under the family doctor model, the policyholder first contacts the family doctor. Your doctor will refer you to a specialist if necessary.
• In the HMO/GVP model, when you need treatment, you see a primary care physician who belongs to a Group Health Maintenance Organization (HMO) or a network of physicians.
• With the Telmed telemedicine model, you can call the free Medgate telemedicine consultation hotline in case of illness. If you need further treatment, ask your doctor or healthcare professional for advice, who will refer you to the hospital.

Voluntary supplementary insurance

In addition to basic insurance, CSS offers various supplementary insurance plans that can be extended as needed. These include dental insurance, international coverage and three myFlex models.

• Outpatient insurance myFlex: This supplementary insurance covers the costs of outpatient treatment worldwide, participates in laser eye surgery and includes dental insurance for children.
• Hospital insurance myFlex: With supplementary hospital insurance, you have a free choice of hospital and ward.
• Alternative insurance myFlex: The supplementary insurance covers alternative medicine with CSS-certified therapists and methods.

CSS Supplementary Insurance also includes Medical Expenses Insurance in the event of an accident, Daily Hospitalization Allowance Insurance, Personal Daily Allowance Insurance and Dental Insurance. Insurance for death and disability due to accident and illness protects your family in an emergency. Once you have a health account, you will receive subsidies for health-promoting and preventive measures.
